What are the signs we may need a new roof?
- What is the age of your roof and level of damage inside & out?
- Is it showing signs of cracking, curling or missing shingles? Those are a good indication that your roof needs replacement.
- If your gutters are FULL of granules, that is another major indication. (A small amount is normal erosion)
- Check your attic with a flashlight and look for stains, wet spots, or areas where light may shine through.

Why are my valleys are deteriorating at a rapid rate?
- Build up of snow over the winter puts tremendous pressure on the valleys of your home.
- If your valleys are not protected properly with ice/water damning or even if there are leaks at the seams of the plywood, over time that pressure may deteriorate the life expectancy of your shingles.
- Most snow compacts in the valley, that is just a fact.
How would I decide on which products to use on the roof?
- Is this your “forever home”, or a rental property? Depending upon your budget and warranty requirements, there are a several options that we can offer you.
- We encourage you to seek other quotes but not all shingles and preparation products are the same! When comparing quotes, you need to make sure you are comparing apples to apples.

If I have skylights that leak, can they be repaired?
- Yes, if the issue is due to flashing and/or counter flashing.
- However, the shelf life for a an older style skylight at optimal performance is only 8-15 years. Erosion of the functioning skylight will accelerate quickly. Costly repairs will pile up, and you will throw good money after bad repairing an old skylight. VELUX skylights can last up to 20 to 30 years!
- If the skylight itself is faulty or older, we would recommend that it be replaced in conjunction with the new shingles being applied.

How long does it take to replace my roof?
- A good company can replace a smaller single-family home’s roof in one day. This includes removing the old roof shingles and underlayment, followed by replacing both with new underlayment and shingles, followed by a thorough clean up!
- Larger homes between 2 – 3 days; weather permitting.
- However, there are always challenges, it is roofing! Surprises are sometimes revealed when the old roof is removed.
Do you clean the job site upon completion?
- Absolutely! We pride ourselves on cleanliness on the site.
- We clean up nightly prior to departing and do a major cleanup on completion.
Do you do repair work and maintenance?
- Yes, we try to do all repair work in the early spring and late fall.
- Emergency repairs will be treated with more urgency during the year.
